Vanessa Anne Hudgens is an American actress and singer hailing from California. She is best known for her performance as Gabriella Montez in Disney's High School Musical. Growing up she first became involved in musical theater at the age of eight. Her film debut came in 2003 when she played Noel in the film Thirteen which was well received by critics. She followed this with another role in the 2004 film Thunderbirds. Finally, in 2006, she made her film breakthrough with the highly successful Disney TV series High School Musical. Along with her success with the High School Musical franchise, she also launched a successful music career in 2006 with her debut album V.
